Annual Cork Club Lunch - Pony Dining |
|
Due to popular demand we found ourselves back at this great venue... and I can see why! I am sure that I can speak for everyone when I say that the food was outstanding and the accompanying wines were brilliant.
Our 'Mystery Wine' was a huge success and everyone was noticeably impressed when they were informed that this wine was indeed from the Wandin Valley Portfolio – being the 2009 SLA Semillon (Semi-sweet Low Alcohol – only 8% alcohol). Gauging by the orders taken on the day, this wine will be a huge success through the Cellar Door. One of the highlights of the afternoon was John Singleton's captivating recital of his "tasting notes and interpretation of a Reserve wine". Extremely informative (I think!) Once again we had a fantastic turnout of Cork Club members. It was great to see the regulars as well as newer members attending. It was truly a wonderful afternoon!
The winner of the 'Pony Dining' prize was Kerry Baxter. Congratulations! We also had a second prize on the day – this one was for the most 'outstanding' tasting notes on the wines presented on the day – this inaugural prize was won by the most informative (and possibly slightly pickled!) John Singleton. Congratulations! |
