Lunch at Pony Dining
Written by John Cox

Despite having to stay and hold the fort at Wandin Valley, I am reliably informed by some of those who attended the Sunday Lunch at Pony Dining that it was a great way to while away a Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all the members who attended which included amongst others Stuart Baxter and family, the Murphys, Ron Thomson & friends, the Rippons, Ellen Singleton, Lorraine Van der Weide, the Mangolds and yes… you who I have forgotten once again. My apology, I will try to better next time.

By all accounts Chef Damian Heads turned on a wonderful selection of foods that was well complimented by Winemaker Matt Burton’s selection of wines. I think that one of the strengths of the lunch and for that matter the annual dinner is that we limit the number of guests attending to give the event a more personal feel. Small gatherings will provide better access by guests to the winemaker for comments on the production of the wine and how the wine fits with the food provided.

Here at Wandin Valley we will plan to have two lunches each year; one in Autumn and one in Spring plus the annual dinner.
