Wandin Valley's Wine Show Success! |
|
August was a huge month for Wandin Valley. Through three important regional wine shows; the Hunter Valley Wine Show, the NSW Small Winemakers Show, and the Winewise Small Vigneron Awards, Wandin Valley won no fewer than two trophies, six gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
The young 2009's were the stars with the Single Vineyard Semillon collecting two gold medals, the Reserve Semillon with one gold, one silver, the Reserve Chardonnay with a gold, and the Pavilion Rosé winning top gold and a trophy at the Small Winemakers Show. It was also great to see our first vintage of Single Vineyard Viognier finish at the top of its field of other white varieties and blends at the Hunter show, with a silver medal. Reflecting the quality of another great vintage, the 2007 Bridie's Reserve Shiraz finished at the top of its Hunter class with a gold medal at the 2009 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards
Ultimately, it was the success of our new release wines at the Hunter Wine Show that gained us our greatest accolade; the Bill Ryan Memorial Trophy for the Most Successful Exhibitor of Young Wines.
This trophy is an exceptional regional award, and we are honoured to have received it.
