The 13th Lovedale Long Lunch took place on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of May. The event was a great success with estimates putting attendance at around 14,000 people over the two days.
Patrons were able to sample premium wines and gourmet food at seven different wineries throughout Lovedale. The food was prepared by leading local restaurants and served in style. Each dish on offer was also matched to a particular wine from the host winery. Here at Wandin Valley, guests were treated to the culinary delights of Bel Posto, who once again provided their magical Sweet Chilli King Prawns on a bed of Jasmine rice, and Tender Lamb Skewers served with a delicious Mediterranean influenced white bean and tomato ragout. Visitors to Wandin were also treated to a comprehensive line-up of Jazz performers including the Kirrawee High Big Band, and The Hunter Valley Grammar School who both played in support to Fish Fry from Newcastle. We managed to catch up with many loyal members at our Cork Club tent which was inundated with visitors trying to get their hands on our Reserve wines!!! Make a note of the Long Lunch on your calendar for next year; it is the 3rd Weekend in May.
