The Lovedale Long Lunch was held over the 17th and 18th of May. Now in it’s 15th year, the event attracted upwards of 15,000 visitors. Wandin Valley was the venue of choice for many, particularly on the Saturday, where at times an ocean of people could be viewed across the Cricket Ground. Entertainment was courtesy of Fish Fry, the Kirrawee High Jazz Band, and the Jazz Syndicate, from Sydney. Bel Posto served two fantastic main meal options: Salt and Pepper Squid with Jasmine Rice and Beef Slow Braised in red wine with roasted Kumera.
To give you some idea of the logistics involved with the LLL, Bel Posto served an extraordinary 800 mains per hour between 11am and 3pm on the Saturday, with more than 6000 mains, desserts and cheese plates served over the two days. Chef Robert made his way through 350kg of Squid and half a ton of Kumera!
If you are interested in attending next years event, which will be held in the 3rd Weekend in May, I suggest you get in early with accommodation as we are already taking bookings. And remember, if crowds aren’t your scene, plan to come on the Sunday! Contact John or Janette for more information,
