Russell and Katrina Leslie
New Owners of Wandin Valley Estate Wandin Valley is owned by the Russell and Katrina Leslie. Together, with their five children, they have a deep affinity with the Hunter Valley and the wine industry in general.
Russell was born in Scotland and trained as a Chartered Accountant before moving to Sydney where he eventually worked for Macquarie Bank. Katrina, born and raised in rural Queensland has worked in Australia and the USA building businesses in the HR space.
Together they have launched themselves into the Hunter Valley Wine Industry with gusto. In 2005 they bought the former George Hunter Estate and this was closely followed by the purchase of vineyards next door on Wilderness Road. From these vines they produce the Tin Soldier and Saltire wines. The latter being a nod to Russell’s Scottish heritage.
In 2009 the Leslie Family furthered their commitment to the Lovedale Region with the purchase of Warraroong Estate. All these properties are on Wilderness Road are a stone’s throw from Wandin Valley. Their wine is marketed under the group banner Swish Wine.
The most recent acquisition of Wandin Valley Estate reinforces Russell and Katrina's passion for Lovedale, its wines, and its people, and adds a fabulous, historic brand to the Swish Wine stable.

Winemaker and Manager at Wandin Valley
Matt is one of the new generation winemakers, with a Wine Science Degree from Charles Sturt University, and practical experience in the Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley, USA and France. 2009 will be Matt’s 5th vintage as Winemaker at Wandin Valley. In addition to his winemaking responsibilities, Matt also enjoys the added challenge of managing all functional aspects of our Estate.

Michelle Ashpole
Sales & Wine Club Manager
Michelle joins Wandin Valley with a wealth of experience gained from positions held at local Hunter Valley icons Wyndham Estate, McLeish, and DeBortoli Wines. Michelle is the person to talk to regarding wine sales and the special benefits of belonging to our wine clubs; the Cork Club and E-Wine.
