A really dense blackish purple colour. Pure concentrated spicy blueberries, blackberries and plums, with underlying game and liquorice as well. Fragrant with a good fresh kick of acidity, the vibrancy and youthfulness of this Hunter Shiraz is really there. The oak is well integrated with the fruit, allowing it even in its youth to shine through. Soft, smooth and pure on the palate with spicy fruitcake being the dominant theme followed with spicy plums. Smooth tannins, medium dry yet with a clear fruit focus. An ever so light touch of warmth on the finish. Try this with slow braised lamb shanks.
